If you are used to watching programs on ESPN, VH1 or MTV and various other channels such as History or Comedy Central, then you might ask how to live with basic cable TV? Now, in basic cable TV, you have access to a number of channels such as FOX, NBC, ABC, PBS and CBS. In addition to this, you will have access to one or two local channels. Some of the new TV channels are also included in basic cable, such as CW stations.

A lot many productive hours are wasted as we are practically glued to the TV. · If the climate permits, go out for evening walks with your family. In case of bad winter, you can play a few games like the board game with your family. It is the best way to unwind and spend quality time with your family.
· Most of the people have forgotten their hobbies as they spend their time watching TV. You can once again revive your childhood hobbies like stamp collection, photography, gardening, or reading a classic etc.
· You can even play card games. “Uno” is one of the best games. If you have kids, play scrabble with them. This way, you will contribute in improving your child’s vocabulary and also spend some time with them.
· Do you have internet connection? Check your mails or talk to your friends. Be a member at social networking sites, if you are alone. There are sites for people with particular interest.
· Play an old time classic DVD once in a while on your DVD player.
· If you have video games, play them. You can get new and old games on the Internet and some of them are free.
· Join a library. You will find ample books of your interest.
· If you are a member of some club, visit the club and play badminton or bocce ball, as per your liking.
· Go for a long drive.
There are ample avenues that you can explore and happily live with basic cable TV.
